A Soul's Dream
Ahh, Death, truest of companion
He whom walks softly, not with fear,
A quiet friend who draws me near.
In all ends, a seed is sown,
Till final breath, yet not alone.
You wait with arms both calm and wide,
Not cruel, but kind, you lift the veil,
Where many stories sleep and dreams set sail.
A part of life we all must meet—
Not enemy, but peace complete.
A poem that came upon me in a time of depression whiles thinking about my losses in life. I have found life to be an elaborate roller-coaster, with ups and downs intertwined in seamlessly unpredictable entropy, where luck and hopes are our only weapons through it.
"Our lives are ours" is a saying I have been hearing throughout my life. But it seems to be false to me. One's memories and experiences an forever linked to a person's, either of known or unknown origin.
We are all born to live. We are all born to witness the chaos of existence. No matter how bright or grim it may be, it would not be beautiful to not see it at all.
Though Death may seem to bring relief to some, there is always a ripple which may bring joy but ultimately, sorrows.
There is no need to rush to our kind reaper. For He will forever wait to hear our story at line's end. So tell yourself to live. Live for me, for those who have any glimmer of loving memory of you and for the unraveling times ahead.
